In my college years, I had an assignment called “Image Editing”. The task was to combine different sets of images to visually communicate a message to the audience. For instance, I created a project called “Berlin Wall” which visually explains the history behind it. This project is about the West Berlin of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1961 to 1989, which separated East Berlin from the German Democratic Republic. The image showcases how people tried to escape from the wall while the guards tried to prevent them from getting out.
I recently completed a project for Rico Roofing, which is a family-owned business owned by my dad’s cousin. My main objective for this project was to include as many original photos as possible, while also adding more roofing photos and editing them using Adobe Photoshop. For the design, I utilized a monochromatic color scheme with light and dark greens. Specifically, I used this color scheme for the title, positive space, and several of the circles around the images.
One of the most amusing projects that I have worked on is creating a fictitious movie poster. The challenge is to craft a visually convincing poster that appears authentic despite being entirely made-up. I meticulously added slight details such as the description on the bottom corner, the rating, and the name of the director. As a result, the entire poster seems genuine, despite being entirely fabricated.
During my internship at the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala, Florida, I developed a coloring book showcasing the museum’s artifacts. I designed half of the illustrations, which included “Two Rabbits,” “Elephant,” and “Owl.” This experience has been incredibly rewarding and allowed me to expand my skill set during my time at the museum.
I’ve previously designed a promotional flyer for a social cause and a self-promotional brochure for a business. During the brainstorming phase for the flyer, I chose to highlight the issue of neglected dogs being abandoned by their owners. Despite the somber tone, my objective was to rally fellow dog enthusiasts to support the cause and join the organization.
A notable initiative, “Cyberbullying,” aims to bring attention to a pressing social problem. At the heart of this project is a young girl who has experienced online harassment, depicted in a poignant image. The collage featured in the initiative carries multifaceted significance; the hands pointing toward the girl serve as a powerful representation of the bullies responsible for her mistreatment.
I wanted to create an advertisement for my project to attract zoo enthusiasts to an upcoming event. I intentionally used a clean image, believing that minimalism can often enhance its overall appeal. However, I kept the background simple to contrast with the main focus, which is a chimpanzee.
I had an idea to create an animated GIF. One of my ideas was to create a looping GIF of liquid poured into a glass. Lastly, I wanted to include a billboard with a strong message about breakfast.
Social media platforms can be an effective way to advertise Zaxby’s, which is one of my favorite fast-food restaurants. My goal was to create an ad for the Big Zax Snack that would engage the audience with a large, easy-to-read font and a QR code that would direct them to a website. To promote the Asian Zensation Zalad, I used the same font in a Zaxby’s restaurant and a color scheme inspired by the salad lettuce’s dark and light green tones.
In my spare time, I decided to explore the concept of fashion. With this in mind, I envisioned a gold chain set against a blue background for visual consistency. To enhance realism, I designed the chain to extend to the center of gravity of a box.
My sister asked me to create a brand to represent breast cancer awareness. I wanted to incorporate the iconic awareness logo and text into a calligram design. The result looks like it’s designed with ribbons spelling out “L@S PUP@S.”
I have always had a brilliant idea for designing seashells since childhood. During a boat trip with family and friends, I found a beautiful conch shell nestled in the sand while exploring the beach. I chose this shell to express the main idea around the shell.
Around the time I was working on my certification, I had the idea to create a poster promoting a dance class for people of all ages. I chose violet and pink colors to appeal to the female audience. After extensive research, I felt satisfied with the overall project’s outcome.
